Full Bio

Diane Hill has a Ph.D. in Theatre from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts in Theatre from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining The Inspired Acting Company as Associate Artist, Diane served as Artistic Director at Theatre NOVA, and she founded and served as Artistic/Executive Director of Two Muses Theatre in West Bloomfield.

 

Diane was a professor of theatre at Wayne State University, University of Detroit Mercy, and Oakland Community College, where she originated the Theatre degree program and created the entire curriculum.

 

Diane has produced and directed shows for professional theatre companies including Theatre NOVA/Ann Arbor, Breathe Art Theatre Company/Detroit, Opus Mime/Ann Arbor, Jewish Ensemble Theatre/West Bloomfield, Morris Co Art Theatre/Ann Arbor, Two Muses Theatre/West Bloomfield, Heartlande Theatre Company/Detroit, and most recently, she directed a production off off Broadway in NYC with Good Light Productions.

 

Also a busy and accomplished actor, she has performed at most Michigan professional theatres, including the Fisher Theatre, Meadow Brook, MOT, Detroit’s Gem Theatre, Purple Rose, Tipping Point, the Encore, the Croswell, Open Book, The Ringwald, Penny Seats, The Dio, Theatre NOVA, Flint Repertory Theatre, the Riverbank Theatre, and the Boardwalk Theatre. She won Wilde Awards for Best Actress for Wit and The How and the Why, along with other acting awards for ‘Night, Mother and I Do! I Do! Other favorite roles include Diana in Next to Normal, Margaret in The Light in the Piazza, Amanda in The Glass Menagerie and Sherri in Admissions.
