Youth Classes

Ages 8-13

The Inspired Acting Company’s youth classes invite young performers to explore storytelling, imagination, and collaboration in a fun, supportive environment. Designed for elementary-aged students, these classes use adventurous worlds and familiar stories as inspiration while focusing on the fundamentals of acting and creative expression.

Through theatre games, movement, character exploration, and ensemble activities, students build confidence, communication skills, and empathy while learning how to work together as a team. Classes encourage creativity and courageous choices, helping students discover their voices and take pride in their ideas.

Each session emphasizes:

Ensemble work and collaboration
Creative problem-solving and imagination
Confidence and stage presence
Listening, focus, and emotional awareness

While classes are playful and engaging, students are also introduced to real theatrical skills in an age-appropriate way. The focus is on growth and participation, not pressure or competition. Every student is supported and encouraged, whether they are new to theatre or continuing a growing passion for performing.

Parents can expect a welcoming, inclusive space where children feel safe to try new things, make friends, and express themselves. Youth classes are held at The Inspired Acting Company in Downtown Walled Lake and are led by professional teaching artists who foster both artistic growth and a love of learning.

Defying Gravity: A Musical Theatre Ensemble Class

Step into a magical world inspired by Wicked, where unexpected friendships, big choices, and bold imagination take center stage. In this six-week class, students will explore characters, storytelling, and ensemble work through theatre games, movement, and scenes.

Together, we’ll focus on working as a team, making brave creative choices, and having fun bringing a story to life. Whether you love being on stage or are trying theatre for the first time, this class is a welcoming space to play, imagine, and shine.
