Teen Classes

Ages 13–18

Where teens grow confidence through creativity.

Our Teen Classes are built for students who are developing a stronger sense of identity and are ready to take greater ownership of their creative work. These classes emphasize personal choice, collaboration, and craft, giving teens the tools to make intentional artistic decisions while strengthening confidence and self-expression.

Students work with more advanced concepts in acting, improvisation, and musical storytelling through focused exercises, scene and song work, and ensemble-based exploration. Classes challenge teens to listen deeply, respond truthfully, and communicate clearly, both onstage and within a group. Emphasis is placed on accountability, respect, and creative responsibility, preparing students for more complex performance work and collaborative environments.

Whether a student is exploring theatre for personal growth or considering future performance opportunities, our teen program supports skill development, creative independence, and the confidence to take meaningful risks in a supportive, professional setting.

Frequently Asked Questions for Parents & Guardians

Does my teen need prior acting experience?

No experience is required. Our teen classes welcome both beginners and students with prior theatre training. Exercises and scene work are adaptable so students are supported at their individual level.

What will students do in class?

Teen classes focus on acting technique, movement, voice, ensemble work, and scene study. Through games, exercises, and collaborative work, students build confidence, presence, and expressive skills while learning to work respectfully within a group.

Are classes appropriate for teens who are shy or new?

Yes. Our teaching artists create a supportive, inclusive environment where students are encouraged to take creative risks at their own pace. No one is forced to perform before they are ready.

Will there be a performance?

Most teen classes focus on training and skill development rather than a public performance. Any in-class sharing is for educational purposes only unless otherwise noted.

What should students wear?

Students should wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement and closed-toe shoes. No costumes or special materials are required. A water bottle is recommended.
