Jon Kind
Associate Artist
Full Bio
Jon Kind is incredibly excited to be able to join such a passionate group of people dedicated to keeping theatre alive in our local communities. The Inspired Acting Company allowed Jon to find a place amongst like minded individuals, who see the importance of the arts in our every day lives.
Jon has been involved in the performing arts for more than twenty years, in many different roles. He was initially drawn to theatre out of a desire to be like his older brother. Starting his journey as an actor, he found a passion that he has continued to nurture over the years.
He attended Eastern Michigan University and studied educational theatre. During that time, he stepped back from acting and took on more roles working with the technical aspects of theatre, as well as directing. For the next fifteen years, he would not step foot on a stage in front of an audience other than to introduce his students. He taught and directed for the better part of a decade in Gull Lake and Lake Orion school districts. He has also worked with the Village Youth Summer Theatre arts camp, as a way to help even younger students engage with the performing arts. During this time he also received a Masters Degree in Directing from Roosevelt University.
As life takes us in different directions, Jon stepped back from his role in education so that he could focus on his art in other ways. This decision is what lead him to find his home at the Inspired Acting Company. He looks forward to being able to bring performances to life, both on and off stage.
